FFD is proud to support Auburn University through a partnership with the Industrial Engineering Manufacturing Laboratory where FFD will provide software and infrastructure in support of the overall educational goals of the curriculum.According to laboratory director Tom Devall, “The goal of the lab is to create a fully integrated, high volume manufacturing environment that allows for the incorporation of all best practices found in lean production systems of world class operations. By designing hands on teaching modules within the lab, we can assure our students receive the experiential learning that makes all the difference.”Lucas said, “We are very excited to be a part of this great new facility that is being developed at Auburn by Tom and his team. This one-of-a-kind laboratory environment is the closest simulation to a real automotive assembly line that I have seen. It will undoubtedly give students who graduate from the program a leg up in the high-tech sectors that are key to America’s manufacturing growth.” As part of the agreement, FFD will provide a fully collaborative, networked installation of its’ Sequence Enterprise Software to allow the students to author, manage and deploy standardized work for the line. As highlighted by Devall, “Standardized work is a foundational lean practice. We therefore have need for world class software that provides the infrastructure to create benchmark standardized work within our operations. We have partnered with Sequence to provide the software that meets this need.”
