9.4.2008 NComputing Chooses Sequence Software for Upcoming Trade Show Demonstrations

Knoxville, TN – Barry Lucas, President and CEO of FFD, announced today that NComputing, Inc. (www.ncomputing.com) has chosen to run Sequence Software (www.sequencesoftware.com) on their demonstration stations at the upcoming International Manufacturing Technology (IMTS) and National Manufacturing Week (NMW) shows in Chicago.

Lucas said, “This invitation by NComputing is a very exciting opportunity for us to co-market our WebSequence paperless work-instruction deployment software with NComputing’s award-winning low-cost and highly reliable virtual desktops.  The pairing of our two solutions makes sense because we are both able to significantly reduce acquisition costs and the total cost of ownership of common manufacturing solutions.  We enable manufacturers to go paperless on the manufacturing floor and NComputing’s emphasis is on computing technology.   Additionally, having our true manufacturing application running on their systems gives booth visitors the opportunity to really get a feel for how NComputing’s hardware can be used to deploy real-time information.”  The IMTS show, located at McCormack Place, is set to run from September 8-13 while NMW, located at the Rosemont Center, is scheduled for September 23-25.

FFD, Inc. is a software company developing, marketing and implementing Sequence Software, a unique package for developing manufacturing work instructions for paper and/or electronic publishing to network users.  Work instructions are a critical part of the two fastest growing application areas in manufacturing; Product Lifecycle Management and Manufacturing Execution Systems.  Sequence addresses the key challenges manufacturing companies face in authoring/ capturing knowledge, managing and revising that information, and disseminating the correct versions of the information to the manufacturing floor. The added capability of integration to ERP, MRP, PLM and MES solutions further provides a collaboration of data and functional departments to work toward ‘design to manufacture’ and ‘manufacture to quality’ methods, as well as supporting Lean, Six Sigma, and ISO program requirements.

NComputing, Inc. was founded with the goal of making desktop computing affordable for everyone. Winner of the Wall Street Journal's Technology Innovation Award, the NComputing solution is based on a simple fact: today’s PCs are so powerful that the vast majority of applications only use a small fraction of the computer’s capacity. NComputing’s virtualization software and hardware tap this unused capacity so that multiple users can simultaneously share it. Each user’s monitor, keyboard, and mouse connect to the shared PC through a small and very durable NComputing access device. The access device itself has no CPU, memory or moving parts so it is rugged, durable, and easy to deploy and maintain.
